Let Me Bring You Up to Speed

Dear Reader,
If you read this blog last year, you will already know a bit about me as a writer.
What you may not know is that I have been a blogger for about four years now (if you would like to check out my other blog, follow this link https://roxyelle01.wixsite.com/blog)
But this blog was different. I created it as part of a university assignment for a creative writing module, but it proved to be a lot more helpful than just an assignment to get a good mark.
Working in the same way as if I was studying any other topic and then creating my own work based on what I had studied really worked for me, and I saw a lot of development in my writing style. I started to refine my craft and learn new tips and tricks to make my work the best it could be.
Now, I’ve finished my degree and so I won’t be doing any more creative writing studying, but I thought that it would be nice to revamp this website in the form of an author website where people can see what I’ve written in the past and hear about/give feedback on what I’m writing now.
And perhaps, if there’s any interest in the future, I could realise a personal dream of mine and use this platform to help new writers hone their crafts. But more on that at a later time.
For now, I just wanted to write a quick post to catch you up on my writing journey. And shamelessly promote my work as I’d love you all to read any pieces that you might be interested in :)
Quite a lot has been going on, hence why I thought it was high time for me to make a website for my work. This year has been very exciting for me, with plenty more to look forward to in the coming 12 months.
Let me give you the rundown:
- In June 2021, my teen romance novel “Never Fall For The Bad Boy” was published on the paid platform Galatea, and has been doing really well on there. Lots of you have been reading it and enjoying it, and I always welcome any/all feedback on the story - here’s the link to read: https://hyzr.app.link/QzrbG2VfSob
- In October 2021, “The Past Never Dies”, my 1920s murder mystery/romance was published in paperback. As I’m not above a bit of shameless self-promotion, here are the links to buy the book:
- In January 2022, I did an interview on the publication of "The Past Never Dies" which was aired on Your Harrogate and published in the Harrogate Advertiser (for those of you who don't know, that is my local radio station and newspaper)
- In February 2022, I created a Wattpad profile (https://www.wattpad.com/user/RoxyElle01) of all my works, so now I can upload my work on multiple sites, making it easier for you all to read my work no matter what platform you prefer :)
- I’m currently finishing up my creative writing dissertation, “Exeter Ablaze”, which I am really looking forward to publishing at some point in the near future, so keep an eye on this blog for updates regarding that.
And hopefully, that’s just the beginning <3
